Kayla Erin Richards

Kayla Erin Richards, a beloved employee in Jordan's Radiology Department, passed away tragically at a local fitness club on March 7, 2006, at the age of 22.  Kayla's Bill was signed into law on January 3, 2007, requiring that Massachusetts health clubs have an automatic external defibrillator on site and their staff appropriately trained on its use.

 Dear Friends,

In the spirit of Kayla, the proceeds raised this year will go to the The BirthPlace at Jordan Hospital.  Our goal is to raise $40,000 to contribute to the Initiative for Excellence in Maternal and Child Health Care at Jordan Hospital.

A note from  Dr. Bridig McCue, Medical Director...

"We are acutely aware of what our mothers, fathers, and families want and expect.  What women want today is quite different than it was twenty years ago.  Women and their families now have expectations of a birthing experience which involves education, freedom and choice with understanding medical support throughout the entire birthing experience, increased privacy, improved room comforts, and more family involvement.  We want to be the Hospital of choice for pregnant women in the communities we serve and we will work tirelessly to earn the confidence and trust which will allow for that.'"
